The Daedalus Story
The Daedalus name comes from a brilliant architect in Greek Mythology. One of the many tales of Daedalus is the Legend of Theseus. On the isle of Crete there lived a monster called the Minotaur, a half man half bull who ate only humans. To contain this monster, Daedalus built an intricate labyrinth from which the Minotaur could never escape. Years later, Theseus arrived on the scene and decided to try and kill the Minotaur, but he needed Daedalus’ help to find his way through the labyrinth. Daedalus gave him a magic ball of string that would roll ahead of him through the labyrinth, lead him to monster, and then lead him back out of the labyrinth to safety. Needless to say, the monster was done for, and Theseus was hailed as a hero.
